Default About Chapter 1/2 Equipment and preorder weapons....

Will they EVER be upgraded to be inscribable?

Right now I've got a nice gothic sword and stuff I'd like to use an inscription or two on, can I do it? no

I got a batch of pre-order weapons that some even USED to be moddable, can I mod them AT ALL? no

It's kinda frustrating when this new thing comes along and won't work with previous aquisitions =(

Even ARMOR can't be done with insignias with chapters 1/2 =(

Any word somewhere I may have missed about them being upgraded, similar to the stat upgrade a while ago?

A friend of mine also got a gothic defender and was pretty mad when he couldn't mod it. Considering it's hard to get with good stats x_x

Well, I'd love to have Prophecies/Factions armor inscribable, as well as my weapons. I hate having my bows with 15% enchanted

But, I don't see it happening, unfortunately.

ITEMS will never drop inscribable because people who don't own Nightfall aren't allowed to unlock inscriptions. It would be easy enough to add 1 set of armor for each graphic w/ the ability to add insignias, but don't count on that being done either, even though a large number of players want it.

Couldn't they even put in an NPC to add the ability to do this to aquired weapons/armor? -_-

That would be the logical solution. Put an NPC in Kamadan or any of the NF towns to make the item inscribable for a fee. Heck, if you want to stop abuse of this by possibly salvaging out cheap inscriptions from collector items or some such, make it so that all mods on the item itself are destroyed when you make it inscribable, such that it becomes totally plain.

Unfortunately, the complexity of making such an NPC might be such that the devs don't really want to bother with it.

Well what about this question

FUTURE chapters..........if inscriptions are going to be available there, it's kinda screwing the 2 older ones >_>

What does unlocking have to do with anything?...... We are talking PVE here. I don't care nearly as much about weapons as I do armor. They went back and added it for FOW armor so they should be able to address every other armor in chapter 1.

If an item is identified with an inscription, it's unlocked whether you want it or not. Anet would have too much trouble redoing their unlock system just to give people inscribable weapons in Tyria/Elona.

FoW is CORE, so they had to add a new version. They wouldn't have to do the same for any other armors, but Anet is much more likely to add the armors.

I'm still a bit annoyed at the fact that they stripped the condition-effect-reduction bonus from all Assassin armours to put them "in line" with the insignias system... And then didn't let us mod our old sets! I wouldn't have chosen a flat "vs. Blunt damage" mod, ANet!

...I can't even replace the armour portion (assuming I had the inclination to pay for 15K sets again) - they're using an old dye mix, so it's impossible to make them match.

Er, why? Owners of the first two chapters get the equivalent mod unlocks automatically. It's only Nightfall-only inscriptions and insignias that need to be unlocked.

It can't be difficult to do so, as I said they upgraded the old stats on armor from proph after factions came out.

For what it costs you should be able to upgrade previous sets as well, as not everyone wants or can afford to fork out for two sets of FoW on the same character if they want to use the inscription system or decided that the previous stats as someone stated earlier arent what they want anymore.

Why should the "veteran" players with the highest costing armour in the game who invested in FoW before NF have to collect everything all over again and go back into FoW all the time instead of just visiting the Rune Trader?

Luckily my FoW still does me fine without me needing to change anything, so it's a moot point with me, but that's not the case for a lot of players, and a-net needs to take that into account when borking some of the stats like with the Assassin.

I totally agree with the OP.

I hate getting a max damage sword with a nice skin, then realising it isn't inscribable.

I agree with the OP. We arent asking them to drop new skins just make the weapons equal to the new ones. Could that be so hard? People need some incentive to play the old chapters and to recommend others to get them.
